projects

Our passion and drive have been instrumental to the success of numerous projects both domestically and all around the world.
All of those projects have different characteristics, different background stories and different specific requirements.
But each and every one of them embodies our whole experience.
They are all unique.
From industrial hangars to high-bay warehouses, from bold suspension bridges to glass skyscrapers in the world’s largest cities, we have realised more than 2000 projects over the years.
The following selection showcases our various areas of competence.

Expo 2015 - Vela Palazzo Italia

Nemesi & Partners

Milan 2015

Pavilion

The Expo’s flagship

The façade of the Palazzo Italia was the symbolic heart of the Expo 2015 in Milan. Its ‘sail’ consisted of steel and glass, partially equipped with photovoltaic modules.

The curved, transparent section creates an impression of weightlessness.

To construct this perfect façade, we planned the load-bearing structure of the sail meticulously and divided it into three sections: the Expo section, the auditorium and the offices. Each section was further divided into zones, allowing us to determine the ideal construction technology for the project without leaving anything to chance.

Finally, we analysed the exposure of each section to snow load, wind pressure and thermal fluctuations, always keeping the harmonious appearance and innovative design of the building in mind.

We aimed to create individual solutions that would facilitate a smooth construction process involving punctual elements. Each individual glass panel had to blend seamlessly into the overall steel structure – and match any further panels to be added in future.
